So Zeylon Rho made this feedback/requests thread pointing out that the scrambler rifle's bonus is completely useless for the assault variant (and likely the future breach and burst variants). EVERY OTHER WEAPON's operation bonus helps both the original weapon, AND the variants. Basically the scrambler rifle is being screwed.
Over a month later CCP finally responded, but all they did was clarify that it is not a bug and it was by design. The OP never claimed that it was a bug, nor that it wasn't by design, the OP was claiming that it is a terrible design. They completely missed the point.
The frustrating part is I don't think they'll even look at the thread again no matter how much noise it makes because they think they already addressed the issue. I hope I'm wrong and they did/will actually read the thread and realize their mistake. |

Not actually hating on CCP this time, the ScR and its variants are all very well balanced compared to other weapons, and I doubt they want to potentially mess it up by changing things around. Its ultimately their fault for not choosing a sensible bonus before balancing. |

A cooldown speed bonus would be much better. |

CCP Eterne wrote:One of the issues with those feedback threads is it distills a great deal of discussion down into a one-line summary. The passive bonus not applying to the Assault Scrambler Rifle is known and it is currently the design of the weapon to have this. This does not mean the weapon will not be changed in the future. In fact, we're going to be rebalancing many of the items in the games in the near future and the Scrambler Rifle and all its variants will be looked at as well, though this does not necessarily mean we will decide to make a change with it.
As for vehicles, we'll be saying something about them in the next day or two. That sounds like a customer support automated response. You're basically just saying "it may or may not change, sometimes between 1 day to 10 yrs"; such a statement doesn't convey any meaning. Also, the bolded underlined part, you're just stating the obvious and once again completely missing the point; no one is disputing that its the design of the weapon, and we know that you guys know about it. Once again, that isn't the point.
Let me make it clear again, WE KNOW ITS THE INTENDED DESIGN. No one is disputing that its the intended design. We're saying the design is bad. |
